Affirmative Action

Posted on November 9, 2018

I chose affirmative action as the topic for my research paper. Many schools in the US consider race as a factor in their admissions process, due to Affirmative Action, which means that Universities set aside a certain number of seats for minority applicants. This policy has been disputed for years because some people argue that the colleges tend to consider test scores and GPA less when reviewing the application, upsetting some applicants with high test scores and GPA when they don’t get into the school they want. The landmark case Fisher v. The University of Texas was a landmark case related to this topic, and sparked a controversy to the present day.
