Okay, so umm… What did I just read? So much just happened that I don’t even know where to start… Like, honestly.
I just finished reading the last half of “Y The Last Man” and I DO NOT know how to feel about the course of events that just happened in this book and in my troubled mind. So, let me sum it up for you.
Yorick, Agent 355, and Dr. Mann get on a train to get to the doctor’s second lab in California; they then eventually have to get off because of certain complications with a female group called FTRA who threatened and tried to rob them.
Anyways… They ended up in a small town named Morrisville in Ohio. This town is filled with criminals, all women(obviously), criminals. So I guess you could say they got an easy escape with all the men dead, huh?
But yeah!! So meanwhile all of this is happening, Hero is looking for Yorick with her Sisterhood of a Missing Breasts, hoping that they will find him, her own brother, so that they can execute the official “fall of man”.
Yeah, whatever. The end up finding him, didn’t get to kill him- total waste of their time- and end up imprisoned by the women of Morrisville. By the way, Hero is also in the prison…
I found out that Agent 355 has feelings for Yorick, and that there is someone in the White House going against Yorick for some odd reason. Alsoooo! I found out that there are more men alive and that they were actually not on Earth, but most likely have been living on Mars. I’m talking about Real men BTW.
I did find more references to racism, particularly towards Agent Confidential. Sexism when the leader of the Amazons is referring to the men that were alive, and when the women of Morrisville basically stated and proved that they could live very well without men. I also noticed ageism in a way, when Yorick couldn’t believe the age of Dr. Mann because of all the accomplishments that she’s achieved in her life.
But SMH… I seriously don’t even know what to think anymore because this comic book and its authors are irritating my brain.
